Celebrating Easter with LEGO

Time to take a look at the next lot of seasonal sets, this time celebrating Easter. There’s 40463 Easter Bunny, and 40449 Easter Bunny’s Carrot House, a gift with purchase set. To qualify for the Carrot House, you’ll need to spend $139 between now and April 5th, or until they run out of stock.

Let’s take a quick look at them.

40463 Easter Bunny

Theme: Seasonal
No: 40463
Release Year: 2021
Cost: AU $22.99
Pieces: 293

In a similar design to the Valentine’s Brown Bear, the Easter Bunny is a brick built animal build on a round cornered raised base. It’s a really cute little build. Inside the base, much like the Brown Bear’s “I ♥ U” is a little brick built carrot. An orange 2×4 brick provides a little more centre stability for the platform above.

There’s a patch of green tiles on the lime green platform that the bunny sits on, and two “painted” easter eggs sitting next to it. These are lovely. The rabbit uses a good amount of SNOT, and the shaping of the build is very organic, even at this scale.

I particularly like how the hind legs have been created. Built separately and finished with a rounded 2×4 tan tile, these are clipped on to the side of the torso. The head has some good shaping, with the white snout and little pink nose well represented in a quarter circle tile. The head is connected with a ball joint, so there’s a little bit of movement allowed.

The back end has a cute little white cotton tail, using a round 2×2 dome brick. All in all, a nice little set and an enjoyable build.

40449 Easter Bunny’s Carrot House

Theme: Seasonal
No: 40449
Release Year: 2021
Cost: Gift with Purchase; AU $19.99
Pieces: 232

This one has a bit more of a comical approach, with a fantastic little brick built bunny and it’s adorable (but small) carrot shaped house. There’s SNOT a plenty in here, with the sides of the house built using the technique.

The frame of the house is added to the base, using SNOT bricks throughout. Remove the rear top panel and you’ll also find an easter egg easter egg!

There’s not a whole lot going on inside, but the stickers in this instance are lovely, especially the rug on the floor. The detail in the stickers is really great. Other stickers are seen on the walls, door, mailbox and exterior window shutters.

The orange in this set is so vibrant and will be a nice addition to the collection. The little windows either side of the build are lovely and include little windowsill gardens. To finish it off, a mailbox and step stone are added, as well as some greenery at the base and the stalk at the top.

This is another really fun build with some nice inclusions. I also scored an extra sticker sheet in the copy I received, so that’s a nice bonus! That little bunny is just the best.

Easter is fast approaching, so get some new sets to get these in your collection. They’re good fun.

A special thank you to LEGO for sending me copies to review. All thoughts on these sets are my own and are not influenced in any way, shape or form. The provision of sets for review does not guarantee a favourable review.
