A couple of days ago we got a few looks at the new Rolling Stones Art set, and it’s a big deviation from previous Art sets, possibly for the better!

The iconic Tongue and Lips logo isn’t a square made from round 1×1 tiles as all of the other Art sets have been, but a super bold mixture of plates, wedge plates studs and tiles to create something truly unique. There’s also depth to it, as the tongue is set a couple of plates higher than the rest of the logo.

The Rolling Stones Art will be available to purchase from 1 June in the UK & Europe, 1 July here in Australia and 1 August in North America. It includes 1,998 pieces, and will set you back US $149.99 / DE €149.99 / UK £129.99 / AU $229.99. I really hope this is the start of a new trend in Art pieces from bands, because it looks crazy. I get it’s not everyone’s cup of tea – it’s rather obnoxious

It’s big. Really big. I’m in the middle of building it at the moment, and it’s taking up a big chunk of my build table. Interestingly, there’s also a hidden feature, just under the tongue.

This year is the 60th anniversary of the band, with ‘The Rollin’ Stones’ playing their first ever gig in London on July 12, 1962. Underneath the tongue there’s a red and yellow gradient of a 60 to celebrate this massive milestone.

Keep an eye out for my review in the coming weeks!
