Here it is folks! To celebrate 10 years of Modulars, LEGO has produced the biggest Modular yet – 10255: Assembly Square, and it looks fantastic! It includes a whopping 4002 pieces, with two buildings separated by an alleyway, as well as a nice little fountain.
The buildings house a bakery, cafe, florist, dentist, music studio, photo studio, apartment and dance studio, amongst the floors. There’s a great amount of new parts, including a highly sought after baby.
There’s no Aussie price details yet, but it will be released on January 1, 2017. Be careful though, as there’s no VIP release for this one.
UPDATE: If you’re in Australia, it will set you back $399.99.
There’s eight minifigures included, and they look fantastic. There’s a barista, baker, florist, music studio assistant, dancer, photographer, dentist, LEGO fan and a baby. I love it that the LEGO fan has a Cafe Corner tile – the first modular we ever got! She’s also got a pretty great collection herself, including some modulars and the Eiffel Tower, as well as a train layout.
Not only that, but designer extraordinaire Jamie Berard and his team have thrown in some easter eggs – references to past Modulars. It’s pretty fantastic!
Finally, there’s a LEGO Designer video below, as well as links to the full press release and list of easter eggs on Brickset, as well as a bunch more images. I can’t wait for January!
