Over the last few days we’ve had some images drop of the new sets to be released in the second half of the year, and they look awesome! First up – LEGO City. There’s the Mars subtheme, and some extras. That’s right – space is back, with a Martian twist! Thanks to thebrickfan.com for the images and info.
There’s also a number of exciting new elements, many of which will be brilliant to get! Rubber duckies anyone? Let’s dive in.
60244 Maintenance Mission Shuttle

60225 Rover Test Drive

60226 Mars Research Shuttle

60227 Moon Base

60228 Space Research Rocket Control Center

60230 People Pack – Space Research and Development
This is a surprising addition, and one I’ll be picking up for sure.

This set in particular looks like a fun addition, although I’m not sure pizza on a fishing rod is the best motivation for astronauts to get fit! Ok, onto the regular City sets…
60231 Fire Truck

I like the look of the new coffee mug! A flaming marshmallow. That axe looks fantastic too.
60232 Garage

60233 Donut Shop Opening

This one looks good. A donut shop, complete with big donut sign, as well as a small toy store, plus a lot more going on. The City Coffee bike is excellent. The truck doesn’t look too bad either. I can see that donut appearing in MOCs for sure.
60234 People Pack – Fairground

And a beauty to finish it off. People packs are always popular, as they often include excellent new elements, and this is no different. A kid with a propeller hat (also seen in the donut shop set), a girl with tiger face paint, red and purple track suits, a purple teddy, a mullet (yes!), new hair pieces, rings, another bike cart, and those sweet three rubber duckies. What a set! This will definitely be a purchase for me.
More sets from different themes to come!
