The LEGO Creator 3in1 sets are now using a brilliant modular system, so houses can become anything you want! The new system uses an 8×8 or an 8×16 stud frame, and is seen in the three current LEGO Creator sets:
The frames all have open sections of wall, and use tiles and 1×4 plates with 2 studs, just like the big modulars. It means you can combine different modules of different sets, to create the house of your dreams. I think this is really clever, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes in the future. To celebrate this, LEGO Rebrick are running a new competition – Be A LEGO Creator!
Is there a room or feature missing from the house that you’d love to see? Well, create a module, submit it to LEGO Rebrick by September 15, 2017, and you can go in the running to win a fantastic prize pack of all the 2017 second half LEGO Creator 3in1 range, as well as some extra goodies.
There are a fair few rules, but I do want to mention a couple of important ones. You won’t be able to use any third party IP content, so no Marvel or DC, Star Wars, LOTR, Harry Potter etc, and no existing LEGO IP, including Friends, Nexo Knights, Elves etc.
You can use basic pieces from IP sets, but not pieces specific to those sets, such as LEGO Minifigure accessories, printed elements, minidolls, NEXO Knights shields, etc. Think common parts found in a LEGO Creator set.
Also, You won’t be able to use LEGO Digital Designer for this competition – physical entries only. Check the Rules page of the contest for more.
This is a really clever contest, and I’m really looking forward to keeping an eye on it and seeing what gets submitted. Are you going to create something and be a LEGO creator? Let me know!
