This one was a surprise! In a meteoric rise to the 10K supporters mark, Museu Nacional – Rio de Janeiro by MaxakalisaurusTopai took only three weeks to get the needed support.
The submission showcases a beautiful building that was destroyed, along with it’s precious contents last year in a catastrophic fire. Over 90% of the Museum’s collection was destroyed, but amazingly the collection is now visible online in 360 degrees, thanks to Google Street View. You can take a look inside before the fires decimated the collection.
The build itself looks simple, but great! I like the little windows. It’s going to be interesting to see where this goes. I wonder what’s next?
