New York Toy Fair 2017 Round-Up

The New York Toy Fair is on at the moment, and there’s always fantastic LEGO goodness to see. Our friends over at The Brick Show have kindly taken lots of photos, and I thought I’d throw in my two cents! Click on the images for a bigger version.

The LEGO Batman Movie

  • 70914: Bane Toxic Truck Attack
  • 70915: Two-Face Double Demolition
  • 70916: The Batwing
  • 70917: The Ultimate Batmobile

I love it that 70917 comes with a light-up bat signal!

Collectible Minifigure Series 17

This is one that’s always popular! These guys are going to be available from May 1, 2017, and they look absolutely brilliant, but what is the mystery figure? Let me know what you think it might be in the comments. There’s no names yet, but so many excellent elements! Some of my favourites are:

  • The chef’s whisk
  • A milkshake from the Diner waiter
  • The strongman and his weights
  • Bunny!
  • Corn Suit Guy, of course
  • and the adorable Rocket Boy.

DC SuperHero Girls

  • Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet (unknown number)
  • 41236: Harley Quinn Dorm
  • 41237: Batgirl Secret Bunker
  • 41238: Lena Luthor Kryptomite Factory

I’m not sure if that is a typo in the last one, but that’s what it’s got on the box! I’m not the biggest fan of these, but there are plenty of fans out there, so they get a mention. There are some very interesting looking parts included.

Marvel Super Heroes – Spider-Man Homecoming

  • 76082: ATM Heist Battle
  • 76083: Beware the Vulture

I love the masks the robbers have in 76082 = Hulk and Captain America! The designers definitely have a sense of humour. I also love the Vulture’s wings – they’re brilliant, but who is the mystery minifigure?

Nexo Knights

  • 70353: The Heligoyle
  • 70354: Axl’s Rumble Maker
  • 70355: Aaron’s Rock Climber
  • 70356: The Stone Colossus of Ultimate Destruction (I love the name of this one!)
  • 70357: Knighton Castle
  • 70361: Macy’s Bot Drop Dragon

Some very interesting sets here! I’m yet to build my Nexo Knights stuff, but I’m looking forward to it, and these look sweet! More photos are available on The Brick Show website.

LEGO Star Wars

  • 75167: Mystery – Possibly Bounty Hunter Speed Bike Battle Pack
  • 75178: Jakku Quadjumper
  • 75180: Rathtar Escape
  • 75183: Darth Vader Transformation
  • 75184: LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar

I have to admit, I’m most excited about the Advent Calendar! I love the little AT-ST. He looks like he’s saying “oooooooooh”.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

This is the one I’m the most excited about – 71042: The Silent Mary! What a ship! This ghost vessel is that of Captain Salazar, and is terrifying! It’s got 2,200 parts, and will set you back USD$199.99 from April 1. Nope, not an April Fools Joke! Would I be that cruel?
There’s eight minifigures (check the press release below), and has a hollow hull that hinges up, just like the movie.
Here’s the press release, followed by the trailers for the movie:

This highly detailed Lego model with over 2,200 pieces features a hinged bow section, opening skeleton hull with decay and destruction detailing, movable rudder, collapsible main mast and two further masts, long bowsprit with crow’s nest and mast, tattered sails, detailed quarterdeck, plus a rowboat with two oars and an array of weapons and accessory elements. This model provides a rewarding build and play experience, and the integrated stand makes it suitable for display… Includes eight minifigures: Captain Jack Sparrow, Henry, Carina, Lieutenant Lesaro, Captain Salazar, Officer Magda, Officer Santos and the Silent Mary Masthead.

So, what’s got you the most excited from the New York Toy Fair? Let me know below! There’s so much to talk about!
