Official Announcement of 10271 Fiat 500

LEGO has officially announced the release of 10271 Fiat 500, next in the large scale vehicles subtheme.

10271 fiat 500

Weighing in at 960 pieces, this cute little piece of Italian motoring history will be available from 1st March, 2020 and will cost US $89.99 / DE €79.99 / UK £74.99 / AU $139.99. A fair price for a smaller set.

The set includes a nice little luggage rack and suitcase, perfect for roaming the Italian countryside. I love the little stickers on the luggage – although it’s a shame they’re stickers and not printed directly on the tiles.

There’s also a cute little folding easel, paint brush, palett and painting of the car in front of the Colosseum.

It’s a classic and iconic car, but after the beauty of the Mustang, it’s just not grabbed me as much. It’s not as dramatic and fiery as the Mustang, but it will look good next to the other vehicles in the collection. I’m going to have to get another shelf!

To celebrate the set, LEGO unveiled a life-sized model of the Fiat 500 made from 189,032 LEGO bricks at Spazio MRF Mirafiori Corso Luigi Settembrini in Turin, Italy today. You can check out the video below. It looks fantastic, and comes complete with an original Fiat 500 steering wheel.

It’ll sit among a fleet of vintage Fiat 500s in the Fiat factory, and then will tour LEGO stores across Italy in March and April.

You can see more images of the set in various locations, as well as the press release, below.
