Official Details of 80103 Dragon Boat Race

After two incredible Chinese New Year sets (and a whole lot of upset LEGO fans who missed out), LEGO has officially released images and information about the third and final Chinese New Year set – 80103 Dragon Boat Race, and it looks like a beauty!

80103 Dragon Boat Race

As were the previous two Chinese New Year sets, this one will be limited to the Asia Pacific region, and will be released on May 1st. That means, if you live in South East Asia, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia or New Zealand, you’ll be able to purchase this set.

And a brilliant set it is – 471 pieces and a staggering 15 minifigures. There’s no set Aussie price yet, but as soon as I hear back from LEGO Australia, I’ll be sure to let you know. I’m expecting around AU $89.99.

The official price is set at AU $79.99. Not bad! It’s also available at LEGO Shop @ Home – click the price link to go straight there!

As far as I know, this set won’t fall under the new rules for regional exclusives being released wider after a few months, as it was only for sets released after May 1. We may be pleasantly surprised though – that’s just my thinking.

This is going to be a difficult set to get a hold of, so I’d be contacting your local independent LEGO store and asking them to put one aside for you. Other bigger stores like Myer and David Jones tend to down the waitlist route, so get in quick if they’re your only option.

The Dreamworld LEGO store, Bondi Junction LEGO Certified Store and the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Chadstone will definitely be getting them, as well as Toyworld, and HobbyTech Toys in Myaree (if you live in Perth).

I’ll definitely be hunting one down as soon as I finish writing this, so let me know if you’re doing the same, and if you had any luck! If you know of any other stores that will stock them, let me know.
