Now don’t get too excited, we’re not getting more goats in a set. It’s still exciting though, as an old theme gets a foot in the door again! Last night, LEGO and Marvel revealed the next set from the movies – in particular Thor: Love and Thunder, coming out July 8th this year. Introducing 76208 The Goat Boat!

With a Viking longboat to build, it’s great to see something from the Vikings coming back, even if it is in a Marvel set! The set includes five minifigures – Thor, Mighty Thor (also known as Jane Foster), King Valkyrie, Korg, and Gorr the God Butcher, the new bad guy played by Christian Bale.

The set is exciting, as we finally get to see Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor costume – it looks brilliant! The two goats are Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder – these are the mystical goats that traditionally pull Thor’s chariot. Think of them as super goats – massive, superpowered, crazy strong, and with powers of regeneration, as long as their bones aren’t broken.

The goats are brick built, which makes sense as they’re meant to be much bigger – 7 foot tall, but they look a bit too happy and friendly. These are mean goats! They’ve got printed curved slope faces. Now I get that they can’t be the minifigure goats, but surely they could chuck one in for the fans? I guess not.
The longboat looks awesome, with shields hanging off the sides, and a shelter inside that opens at the roof. This will be a fun one to get.
The set will release on 26th April, 2022, for US $49.99 / DE €49.99 / UK £44.99 / AU $79.99.
