What is it about LEGO and slow motion destruction? There’s been a couple of much more well known videos of late, like the LEGO Plane Crash in Slow Motion by The Slow Mo Guys on YouTube, and the heavily circulated Super Star Destroyer drop at 1000 fps by Wired. There’s plenty more, but they’re my favourite ones.
Some LEGO fans are screaming at their screens when these appear, while others (including me) are just gawking with enjoyment, mainly that it’s not one of my sets that is the focus of the destruction.
Anyway, it’s happened again – this time, with a copy of 42056: Porsche 911 GT3 RS, on a crash test track. A German site, C’t Magazine, has built the Technic beast, attached it to the crash test accelerator, and hurtled it towards a wall at 46 km/h, with incredibly destructive results. Let me just say, it’s a good thing human sized cars aren’t built out of Technic. Ouch. You can check out the video below, and read all about it at the C’t Magazine website.
