Two Sets Get Approved from LEGO Ideas

Work has been busy recently, but I’m back! Overnight the LEGO Review Board evaluated 10 more product ideas, as well as the Anatomini project submission from the previous round. The result was that we got two sets approved from the Second 2019 Review Round and I’m very happy! Unfortunately Anatomini didn’t get through.

Medieval Blacksmith

This project, by Namirob is beautiful. I love medieval architecture and this looks stunning, although I’m expecting a few changes in the final set. I’d be surprised if the wedge curved plates in the landscape stay, and I think the tree might get a bit simpler, as well as the roof, but I certainly hope not! if it gets released as is, it’ll be a winner.

Winnie the Pooh

This is cute! Winnie the Pooh and Friends will be a big tick for a lot of families – kids are going to go nuts for this one. Great move, LEGO, and well done to the creator benlouisa! I’m looking forward to seeing what the minifigures look like.

All in all, I’m glad we got these two. Space has been hit hard with LEGO Ideas of late, so I’m glad we’re getting a break from that. The other sets just looked too big, or too niche (I’m looking at you, Thunderbirds). I would have liked to have seen the Seven Dwarf’s House or the Pursuit of Flight make it through, but these are going to be very popular.

I’m looking forward to getting my hands on them! You can check out the livestream announcement on the LEGO Ideas Blog.

What do you think of the results? Let me know in a comment.
